8 Months and Growing!
Yes, we're super late with this, and he definitely didn't make getting these photos easy lol. The last month was filled with some exciting and fun developments. Here are a couple of the new surprises that occurred during his 7th month.
- Crawling on his hands and knees
- Drinking from a straw
- Call and response
- Mommy: "Sooo big!"
- Carter: *Raises both arms in the air*
- Mommy: "How big is Carter?"
- Mimicking emotions (he'll cry if another baby starts to cry).
- Pulling to stand easier
- Pushing his push cart with his arms out
- Faking coughs
Crawl, Baby Carter!
We're in trouble!
6 Months and Growing!
The last month has brought many subtle changes. So subtle that we've overlooked them before making this post. He's become more aware that people aren't disappearing, and are simply going around corners (Which means he'll look at a door until mommy comes back. He's become very good at associate certain sounds with certain stimuli, which means he'll put falling asleep on hold if he hears mommy or daddy come through the front door - no matter how sleepy he is at the time.
He has become much better about keeping his arms in front of him during tummy time, which he still hates. To be honest, we've become better about initiating tummy time :).
Walking drills are going much better! He's taking his walking and pushing it forward before taking a couple of steps! Of course he's still being supported during the process, but he's learning to stabilize his weight each time we initiate the drill.
5 Months[ish] and Growing!
Yes, we're a bit late with this one, but oh well!
THe last month (and a week) has been filled with lots of firsts and new developments.
1) When getting out of his Carseat, Carter now arches his back in anticipation of your hands going underneath him.
2) Carter started his journey to solid foods. Right now he's only eating rice cereal, and even that's only once every other day. What started off as a rough experience, turned into effortless eating. He even makes little slurping noises when sucking the rice off of the spoon!
3) He discovered that he can stick out his tongue and make raspberry noises.
4) He still hates tummy time, but it's paying off! He's been developing the core strength to roll over onto his side, which adds yet another layer of difficulty to diaper changes :-(.
5) He can sit up with little to no assistance!
